A recent purchase that was not cherry-picked is this pretty dramatic looking 1824 Half Dollar with Various Overdates. I looked at several of these varieties and of them all, even in higher grades (up to MS63) this specimen was by the easiest and most dramatic to see. I am slowly but surely analyzing this coin, trying to figure out exactly how many over dates there are on this coin. Should I figure it out, I will let everyone know.

I have been intrigued by the amount of potential numbers under the "4" on the 1824 Capped Bust Half Dollar with Various Over dates. So far I think I have lined up a few of them.

Looking at this from a distance, The photo on the left is currently the normal view. The photo on the right is with an overlay template, with a "2" super imposed where I think it belongs.

It fits the curl to the left side of the "4"and to the right as well.

I believe this 1824 Capped Bust Half Dollar with Various Over dates has MORE dates that the "4" is trying to hide. I am looking at the area just above the end of

the "4" horizontal crossbar. That area also looks like another "2" or other digit was punched or tapped there. These photographs and overlays take some work to

get great photos and then the right amount of adjustments in order to see both digits clearly. I do not currently have another with a "3" or a "0"  so other digits right

now will be on hold. I'd also have to ensure the size of the date would be the same, and that it can be properly overlay without any size issues too.

As time permits, I will analyze this coin a little further.
